Brilliant Cut Diamond – GIA Announces a New System For Grading Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds

Posted on February 4, 2019 in Uncategorized

The Brilliant Cut Diamond has awed, wooed, oohed and aahed countless men and women around the globe since it was first discovered. It’s dazzling sparkle has charmed dignitaries, A-list actresses, music moguls and even professional athletes. As quiet as it’s kept, the Brilliant Cut Diamond is probably the most preferred engagement ring for astute diamond buyers.

The one thing that has miffed many in the diamond trade and consumers alike, is the mysterious diamond cut. If you are familiar with the 4 C’s of Diamonds; and you should be if you are buying any type of diamond, then you know how inconsistent diamond cutting can be. Of the 4 C’s, the cut is without dispute the most challenging and the most complex to decipher.

Adding to the complexity of the cut is the fact that the Brilliant Cut Diamond was officially patented in 2004. Which means there is a great possibility that someone or some company may somehow seek to trademark the Brilliant Cut Diamond; with the emphasis on the actual cut itself. Don’t think that trademarking is out of the realm of possibilities; remember, in this business, and in the legal world and financial arena, anything can happen.

Having shared that, GIA, the Gemological Institute of America has made great strides in galvanizing the diamond trade and setting standards that are recognized worldwide. In terms of the Brilliant Cut Diamond GIA has done it again! GIA released a new Diamond Cut Grading System that is based on, according to them, “… advances in computer modeling.” GIA states and I quote, “…we have been able to unlock the mystery of the diamond cut – arguably the most complex and contested of the 4Cs.”

Per GIA, the new system they have developed boasts of a “… scientific way to assess and predict the cut quality in round brilliant cut diamonds.” This new software provides three major technological advances that essentially keeps the Gemological Institute of America at the forefront of research and discovery in the diamond trade. The first is an accurate method of estimating a cut grade. The second is a database that is programmed into some of the leading diamond measuring devices. The third as you may have already guessed – is the automation of this entire process.

That means jewelers that use the system can accurately predict cut grades. That benefit is crucial when a company is projecting the value of their inventory. There is a huge difference in pricing, value and demand when you are comparing a Brilliant Cut Diamond to other cuts such as: Cushion Cut Diamonds, Emerald Cut Diamonds and Princess Cut Diamonds. By using the GIA system jewelers can be rest assured of the make up of their inventory.

On the consumer side, buyers can analyze and compare cut qualities and make their decision based on accurate knowledge and not guesswork. It is a common occurrence when a person for whatever reason decides to sell a diamond; they find out the hard way – the diamond they thought they bought is not what the jeweler claimed that it was. Of course such hiccups could have easily been resolved with a diamond appraisal but what percentage of diamond buyers opt to get diamond certificates?

With these new technological and scientific advancements by GIA, you can expect the Brilliant Cut Diamond to stake its claim as one of the most popular gems for proposing marriage. Once consumers start performing side-by-side evaluations, the number will show that most gravitate towards the sparkling beauty of the Brilliant Cut Diamond.

Congratulations, Sweetheart! I Bought a Clarity Enhanced Diamond!

Posted on January 14, 2019 in Uncategorized

Like many other young gentlemen, you did your research, and decided to propose to your beloved with a clarity enhanced diamond ring in your hand. Good move, and congratulations on your bright new future! Obviously you have a knack for practicality and a keen eye for value.

Of course, at some point you will want to talk about the diamond itself. There should be some tears of joy and declarations of happiness, followed by some frank discussions about children, the new dog and more. (I would recommend a rescued dog with several sporting breeds in its ancestry). But yours is a relationship based on honesty and communication, so why not tell your fiancé the sparkling rock on her finger is a clarity enhanced diamond.

You’re probably already at a loss about what to say. It’s a safe bet that your fiancĂ© has no idea what an “enhanced diamond” is. So here are a few thoughts to incorporate:

1. Start off with the big guns. Tell her about the matching beauty and cost savings. “Darling, Although, I can’t tell the price, I want you to know that I saved 50% percent on this diamond. And there’s more. We got a much larger diamond for the same money as a much smaller one. I trusted you would appreciate knowing how much I think of you and that I’m smart with my resources.” -When you get right down to it, clarity enhanced diamonds are a deal, and we are confident she will see that. We call it: thoughtfulness combined with rational thrift.

2. Be sure to explain to her that it’s a real, natural diamond which has been legally and traditionally mined out of the ground, not made in a laboratory. “Dearest, just think, it took a billion years of geological history to bring us this perfect expression of love.”

3. “Honey, wait until your girlfriends, family and everyone at the office sees the size of that thing. Do you think they will flip when they gaze at this large, flawless looking sparkling wonder?”

4. A clarity enhanced diamond can look just like the upper five percent of gem quality diamonds. And who doesn’t appreciate natural beauty? “Baby, I wanted a diamond that was just as beautiful as you, and modern technology made it happen.”

5. Impress her with your knowledge of gemology. If there’s anything that women find romantic, it’s science. “Baby, while I was researching buying the right stone, I learned that the clarity enhancement process has become particularly advanced in the past six years.” It will make you sound timelessly modern, like James Bond.

6. “When it came down to it, I knew this diamond had to be yours. It stood out from all the rest.” Picking a diamond with such distinctive value demonstrates thoughtfulness and up to date thinking. Ideal characteristics for a life partnership.

7. Explain that you respect tradition, but traditions can benefit from modern, high-tech improvements. You could spend that money on a couple of chickens and a cow if you wanted to be really traditional, but diamonds tend to be easier for finger wearing. A small, sparkling diamond would be nice, but the larger clearer version of same the appearance is even nicer. you made the call to upgrade to a bigger, clearer version is even nicer. (Good call.)

We hope these tips will help you make the right decision about purchasing a clarity enhanced diamond. The moral of this story: “The more you know the less you pay.”

How To Get Money Fast To Pay A Bill – 3 Ideas

Posted on January 13, 2019 in Uncategorized

So, this is the scenario. An unexpected power bill showed up out of no-where. The date, in red writing on the bill says you have 2 remaining days to pay or they are going to switch your power off and make you pay a penalty to re-connect you.

You don’t want to borrow money from those people that charge 20% per week, and your next paycheck isn’t for 2 weeks. Here are three ideas to make a quick couple of hundred dollars, legally of course.

Idea 1

Go to your local stationary store and spend $1.30 on a roll of white square “stick on” labels. Then go to the supermarket and buy 3 loaves of sliced white and brown bread. Buy some ingredients, like cheese, ham, eggs and lettuce and a slab of cheap soda cans. (Around $13) Now go home and find an attractive plastic container and place a clean tea towel inside it. Also put some ice in a plastic bag and put it in the container just before you leave, so the environment in your plastic container is cool

Next make 60 sandwiches of varying types. Carefully cut them in half so the cut is clean and neat and wrap them in plastic cling wrap. This is not strictly legal, because officially you need some sort of certificate to sell food. But in this crisis situation, doing it just for a few days is excusable. However, do make an extreme effort to be hygenic and clean at all times.

Stick the stick on labels on the front of each product and put a price on each sandwich. Also on the soda cans. You should get a return of a dollar or more on each sale. Now go out and see a hundred people, you should be able to sell most of your stock because of the convenience and the appealing look of your food and drinks. Work sites where hungry workers are, or just going from shop to shop where there are hungry shop keepers.

Idea 2

Find 3 to four items in your garage or spare room that you don’t need and never use. An old bike for example, or computer or whatever has some worth. Next, detail the item. I don’t mean clean, I mean detail it. That means looking close at the item and using some elbow grease to really make it sparkle in every area. You will be surprised how appealing and old item can become if it is sparkling clean. Next, go to all the second hand shops and shop your item around and sell to the highest bidder. Be a good negotiator and always walk away, only to come back if you are sure that this is their best price.

Idea 3

If you play as musical instrument, you will never starve! If you play the guitar or saxophone, get out into high street and have some fun for donations. If you don’t have any musical talent, you can go to the library and find a book of poems that appeal to you and recite them in the street in an overstated, but comical and dramatic manner. Wear a Barret.
