So, this is the scenario. An unexpected power bill showed up out of no-where. The date, in red writing on the bill says you have 2 remaining days to pay or they are going to switch your power off and make you pay a penalty to re-connect you.
You don’t want to borrow money from those people that charge 20% per week, and your next paycheck isn’t for 2 weeks. Here are three ideas to make a quick couple of hundred dollars, legally of course.
Go to your local stationary store and spend $1.30 on a roll of white square “stick on” labels. Then go to the supermarket and buy 3 loaves of sliced white and brown bread. Buy some ingredients, like cheese, ham, eggs and lettuce and a slab of cheap soda cans. (Around $13) Now go home and find an attractive plastic container and place a clean tea towel inside it. Also put some ice in a plastic bag and put it in the container just before you leave, so the environment in your plastic container is cool
Next make 60 sandwiches of varying types. Carefully cut them in half so the cut is clean and neat and wrap them in plastic cling wrap. This is not strictly legal, because officially you need some sort of certificate to sell food. But in this crisis situation, doing it just for a few days is excusable. However, do make an extreme effort to be hygenic and clean at all times.
Stick the stick on labels on the front of each product and put a price on each sandwich. Also on the soda cans. You should get a return of a dollar or more on each sale. Now go out and see a hundred people, you should be able to sell most of your stock because of the convenience and the appealing look of your food and drinks. Work sites where hungry workers are, or just going from shop to shop where there are hungry shop keepers.
Find 3 to four items in your garage or spare room that you don’t need and never use. An old bike for example, or computer or whatever has some worth. Next, detail the item. I don’t mean clean, I mean detail it. That means looking close at the item and using some elbow grease to really make it sparkle in every area. You will be surprised how appealing and old item can become if it is sparkling clean. Next, go to all the second hand shops and shop your item around and sell to the highest bidder. Be a good negotiator and always walk away, only to come back if you are sure that this is their best price.
If you play as musical instrument, you will never starve! If you play the guitar or saxophone, get out into high street and have some fun for donations. If you don’t have any musical talent, you can go to the library and find a book of poems that appeal to you and recite them in the street in an overstated, but comical and dramatic manner. Wear a Barret.
